Thanks! i called them today and they asked me to wait for 90 days. My lawyer says tehy r getting receipt notices in that date range..maybe ours will be soon.

Self-employment is possible only on 1099. If you're on W2, you're *not* self-employed. Pls see IRS guidelines

I think your idea is good. But this could be very difficult to implement, at least for USCIS.
Another suggestion is that porting should be automatic. As soon as a person acquires the required qualification for EB2 + a letter from the company that the person's future job will be of EB2 caliber, UCSIS should put him/her in EB2 category. This is some thing we should work on.

Finally we have decided to go back to India for good. I filed my EB3 in May 2003. Its going to be another 4 years to get the green card. When I went to India for vacation last December, we liked it over there & the economy is booming. There are all sorts of discussion regarding the Economic Gap/Politics/Corruption/Cleanliness. But we like it over there. Finally I will have an option to do something interesting. In US I was very much dependent on my monthly pay check and afraid to take even the slightest risk. I am also scared to use the AC21(Hey, thats the way I am). I am working with the same company for last 10 years, kinda stagnant in the last 4 years. In India, there are lots of choices, either to work for a sw company or start some business on my own. I think I will take the business route.
May be I can go there, earn well, send my son to US for college, do green card through him & come retire in US!!!

This event has been registered at SJPD but no permit was issued.
Having a permit means you can block the traffic.

However, when I asked if I have any liability for others fault, the ploice said NO. Everybody abides by law for himself.

Allow me to ask you this. Why do you waste your time like this? Don't you have anything better to do? This suri guy is a jerk fresh out of PMP some class, and he wants to see a "project plan". Let me send him a power point presentation and Microsoft Projects file about the "project plan" which he wants to see.
Look, you can waste your time for as long as you want, but there will always be jerks who think that advocacy for EB issues is a "project", and at the end of budget and scheduled time, he wants to see the desired output. That' a narrow mind-set of PMP certification, which often do not apply in advocacy campaigns. It's ok, it took me time to understand this, but I had to do my own research to understand this. suri has to do his own research to learn more than his pmp class. You cannot explain it to this suri guy. So my advice to you is, please don't waste your time.
Also, who knows if this suri guy is an agent of some tracker site, just playing his charm to dampen our spirits so that all we do is track our soft LUDs.

Thanks for the advice but I do not believe I am wasting my time by answering queries like these from members who think IV is out there to do them a favor at each step without them participating in the march towards the ultimate goal. It's all in one's perception, I guess. Even if I am successful in changing the mindset of one individual in a month, I will happily 'waste' my time on this forum :)

Removal of country limits temporarily and permanently, will both require the support of the majority of both houses of the congress. It will require as much effort to to remove country limits temporarily as it will require to remove country limits permanently.
Some folks here just wants to remove country limits till the time they get their agree card i.e. for the span of 2 years. If removal of country limits is good for EB community and America, then why only remove it for 2 years ONLY.
Such a campaign is likely to divide this community. PLEASE DO NOT divide the community by supporting this mis-directed agenda.
If country caps can be removed temporarily then they can be removed permanently. But asking for less than what key lawmakers have already proposed less than 6 months back is like shooting ourselves in the foot. PLEASE DO NOT throw others under the bus. PLEASE!!!!

There is a mistake in the vb for Oct 2009 for Eb3 . Please look at the mumbai consulate it shows Eb3 -I cutoff date is 22 feb 2002.
Cut Off Dates- Consulate General of the United States Mumbai, India (http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/cut_off_dates.html). Can anyone verify the problem .
Mistake seems to be at the Mumbai site. They seem to have copied E3-I dates from the China column of the original VB. Perhaps they will correct it quickly. On the optimistic note, we can hope that error is in the published VB, not at Mumbai site.

I sent an email saying that - for Employment Based immigrations the employers are not willing to given the required document like employment letter, as they fear the employee may leave using AC21 after 6 months. This puts the applicant helpless after waiting for so may years and when the dates are current. Can USCIS do something about this? The only thing what most applicants have paystubs to prove the continuous employment.

I have to do the landing before june, 2008.
I have already used AP to enter US after my last trip to India. So IO at POE canada will know that I have pending 485. don't know how to handle this situation.
I am planning to do the landing in last week of may via Niagra falls. (toronto)
anyone with similar status done landing please share your experience.
