I have been waiting for the FP in the hope that they will be issuing it soon, its already Feb and I have not received it yet. Im the only one who has not recieved the notice yet in my friends circle, I have opened an SR last week. Mine is TSC application. Are there any TSC guys yet to receive the FP notices. Overall are there a significant number of people still waiting or is it just a few of us

This situation can affect any of us at anytime. My dear husband was diagnosed terminal 4th May 06 and passed 13th May 06, the day he passed my sons immigration cases died with my husband

You should check whether this can be made effective on a retroactive basis.

Hi Mehul, i'm really sorry to hear your situation. I was researching some stuff & since you are from Fiji & with the political unrest in your home country, can you take political asylum since you were kinda forced to leave the country. The answer to your question is: Nothing. They may be waiting, because of many reasons like, they are scared, do not care, there are other opportunities, tired of this immigration crap, lack of enough knowledge regarding their rights.
Now, I do not think the onus correcting such mistakes is 100% on the EAD folks' shoulders. I remember reading how slavery ended in this country. Slavery died, not because the black people fought for the abolition of slavery; slavery ended when the white man realized that slavery is wrong.
Based on the same logic, I would say that the job of stopping discrimination against EAD/H1B etc. is mainly the responsibility of Citizens and GC holders. It is their country; it is up to them to fix it.
My question is -
what are these "1000s of folks" doing? Are they waiting for someone else to work for their cause?
If they believe they were wronged, they need to take action. Without any action, nothing is going to happen.
And, yes, these is discrimination on the both side of the lines. Have you looked at the hiring practices of leading desi outsourcing/consulting companies in the US?

I tried doing that. Convinced the employer to file a new labor for a new position, advertized again, filed a new labor under PERM, applied for a new I-140 and waited for a year for approval ... now the I-140 has been denied for A2P and is under appeal; I must confess that I have lost hope that it'll get re-opened and approved.
So all my efforts for getting a EB2 140 have failed.....what do you recommend, I start this entire process again. Even if I'm willing to bear the cost, the employer will not file yet another labor.
EB3 wait is my only way out now......

AS for GC, I have a coworker whose dad, the primary applicant , passed away, and only 1 dependent was able to continue process and just recently got his GC. Most likely, your wife will not be forced to return home.

All my checks got cashed today. I applied on July 23rd at NSC and got the receipt #'s from WAC.

Because from my experinece you can't even talk to an IO in TSC.. You can only talk to a customer rep if your case is in TSC..
Unless ofcourse your meant IO was the same as a "customer rep" from National customer service.
IOs at TSC are responding to the enquiry of your case i.e they give info about name check status.
But in NSC the IOs are not giving any information, they are just saying they can't tell anything.This happened to me two times since last week.Does any one got same experience with NSC?

I second...no need to panic....let's start doing what they're doing on the last week of September if we don't get our receipts....just kidding...
I guess a well package application gets the nod for Receipting very fast while poorly package ones may face stricter scrutiny at the mailroom. Another thing, the mailing room is also sorting out applications to be retained at its service center and those that need to be transferred to other service centers.

just sent e-mail to ombudsman. I would encourage all of you to send e-mail regarding FP delay. it did help in getting receipt notices. Please do it for FP also.

We got our Cards today along with Welcome notice.
Yesterday status got updated for me and my wife as below:
Current Status: Approval notice sent.
On August 8, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.
Hope I will receive GC soon. Haven't got CPO mails/status yet.
