Guys,
why are u arguing whether to go back to India or not, just go if u want to or else stay and keep quiet..
There is no need to wash India's dirty linen in public here.every country has their own issues, that includes US as well.
Admin, can we please DELETE this thread and be done with this.
Moreover why cannot a person going back to india just go back quietly instead of posting it here unless he has issues been stopped as the Immigration counter in India.
I just put it in the Interesting Topics section. I think it is easy for you to ignore it instead adding 10 lines of comment.

To the best of my recollection, thousands of persons from Mexico are very much in line and suffer from retrogression just like everyone else. Please refer to any visa bulletin for details.

Yes I received Welcome notice (I-797C approval notice). I am still waiting for my cards.

We'll find other things to worry about after the GC. However, I think a focus on learning/self improvement, health (exercise and meditation should go a long way..although i haven't really spent as much time as i should on this) and most importantly on financial objectives should help.
Most of us are here to secure our financial futures. Focus on good investing practices, learning how to invest both your money and in yourself. The worst thing we can do is to be paralyzed in thought and action by USCIS processes.

As much as all of us on this board would like to get our GCs, remember that GC is just a means to an end, it is not the end itself. Dont make the GC so important that not getting it starts "depressing" you.
if you see life as a series of choices and actions, then the lack of GC inhibits a lot of choices and actions.
how badly you wish to change career for example, varies among individuals. but one should not forget that life is finite number of years, and the system here wants to eat all your productive years by dangling the GC carrot.
as sufferers of this ordeal, i believe it is our duty to inform the young and innocent who are not yet in this mess, about the future that awaits them.
mind you i am not discouraging anyone from coming to the US.. that is a decision that must be made by the individual.... just making sure the rules and realities of the game are known to people before they come here.

Answering for Logiclife, whose time zone is a couple hours behind.
CIR will likely not be VOTED dead. There just will not be anything done about naming a Conference committee. If a committee is indeed named, but they don't produce a report in 2-3 weeks, then CIR would be deemed dead.
The bottom line is, if nothing happens by the end of July, CIR will likely be dead.
We will be looking at other options much before the end of July. The problem for us is that no other legislation will be considered before the end of July.
Well, hearing is in august, that means that the CIR for this year is dead.

In the letter it mentioned I-485. I can't figure out what's going on. Its over 90 days since I filed everything and I thought usually you receive EAD within 90 days.
I was happy as I thought I'll be receive EAD soon since I did FP. Oh Well. I'm currently on H4 and have been out of work since last Dec and its becoming very hard living on one salary.

My wife's 485/EAD/AP checks got cashed today. Biometric check not cashed yet. Although when I enter the receipt number in the USCIS website, couldn't find the case . :confused:
All receipts number(from back of check) start with SRCxxxxxx, which means Texas i guess.
